a great interest towards everything related to India
His daring enthusiasm led him to go to India alone, a country he
journeyed extensively, blending with its people and learning their
language and culture.
He studied tabla and vocal
music under the tutelage of Profesor
Shyam Srivastava, at the Sri Sathya Sai Institute of Higher
Learning in Prashanti Nilayam, India. After the demise of professor
Srivastava, he returned home and came back to India to study
and receive instruction in tabla
and pakhavaj from
Pandit Mohan Shyam
Sharma, a scholar in musical science and sanskrit, who traveled
all around the world delivering concerts and classes, usually at
major universities.
He later took spiritual initiation in the ancient holy city of
Vrindavan, India, from His Grace Srila
B.A. Paramadvaiti Swami, receiving the name of Rasikananda
Das.
He played numerous times in Argentina, India, Brazil and Chile,
a country where he lived for some time. He received the support
of the Embassy of India in Santiago de Chile, the Chilean-Hindu
Institute, the Chilean-Tibetan Institute of Culture and
of both Argentinean and Chilean branches of the Institute of
Higher Vedic Studies. He is currently sponsored by the Embassy
of India in Buenos Aires.
He collaborated with Ariel Chab-Tarab
in the soundtrack to the motion picture “Unicornio”, the
first Indian-Argentinian co-production of the Argentinian filmmaker
Pablo Cesar.
He participated in the production and music of “Chitra",
a musical play written by Rabindranath Tagore, proposed as
project of the year conmemorating the 50 years of India's independence.
