SaRGaM, the first School of Indian Music in Latinamerica,
works as a network operating within several cities in Argentina.
It makes the learning of this ancient musical discipline easier
by bridging language, cultural and idiosyncratic barriers.
Aspiring students can study the disciplines of Sitar, Tabla, Santoor,
Sarangi, Singing, Harmonium and Bansuri, as well as
Music Appreciation. The School also delivers courses of Hindi
and Sanskrit languages. There are instruments available for purchase
and rental, as well as original spare parts and replacements.
SaRGaM's staff delivers
private and group (ensemble) classes with live practises, hosts
workshops and organizes concerts and
conferences..
The School was founded jointly by Ariel-Chab-Tarab
and Rasikananda Das, with their
masters' blessing and authorization. On July 30th 2000 the School
was oficially launched, sponsored by the Embassy of the Republic
of India in Buenos Aires. The Indian Counsel of Cultural Relations
of New Delhi (ICCR) sent a donation of musical instruments for that
special occasion.
